Halberstadt, Central Station, October 2014
Often there is very little time left for a portrait. This photo is a special example of this. The train driver shown here was selected in advance by the railway company and was informed about the shoot details. He had to wait in Halberstadt for a second train, which should get coupled to his train, and then leave his driver’s cab because a colleague continued the train.
When the two trains were paired, exactly two minutes remained for the portrait. The train driver therefore kept looking at the station clock and said the time: „We still have one minute left“. „Thirty seconds to go.“ When the clock indicated ten seconds before departure, he hurried to the door and left the train. The portrait was taken, the train driver had the end of his work day.
